The following changes will become effective on December 1, 2022, absent congressional intervention.
Amendments to the Federal Rules of Bankruptcy Procedure
- 1007, 1020, 2009, 2012, 2015, 3002, 3010, 3011, 3014, 3016, 3017.1, 3017.2 (new), 3018, 3019, 5005, 7004, and 8023.
These rules changes, as well as the changes to Appellate Rules 25 and 42, and Civil Rule 7.1, can be viewed on the Pending Rules and Forms Amendments page (link is external) of the United States Courts website. The Congressional Package (link is external) dated April 2022 contains blackline versions of the Rules and Committee Notes for a quick reference of the changes.
Changes to the Official Forms
- Official Form 101 (link is external), Voluntary Petition for Individuals (revises lines 2 and 4)
- Official Form 309E1 (link is external), Notice of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case (For Individuals or Joint Debtors) (revises line 7)
- Official Form 309E2 (link is external), Notice of Chapter 11 Bankruptcy Case (For Individuals or Joint Debtors under Subchapter V) (revises line 8)
