The Federal Judiciary has developed a Next Generation (NextGen) Case Management / Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system that will allow you to use the same account for both PACER and electronic filing access. The functionality that allows filers to have one login and password to access any NextGen court and PACER is referred to as Central Sign-On (CSO).
In preparation for this next phase, you must have your own PACER account. Shared PACER accounts can no longer be used. It is imperative that you register for your own PACER account.
If you have your own PACER account created prior to August 11, 2014, you must upgrade your legacy PACER Account.
