The Federal Judiciary has developed a Next Generation (NextGen) Case Management / Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system that will allow you to use the same account for both PACER and electronic filing access. The functionality that allows filers to have one login and password to access any NextGen court and PACER is referred to as Central Sign-On (CSO).
Alabama Northern Bankruptcy Court will go live with CM/ECF NextGen on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.
In preparation for this next phase, you MUST have your own PACER account. Shared PACER accounts can no longer be used.
If you have your own PACER account created prior to August 11, 2014, you MUST upgrade your legacy PACER Account.
Instructional videos (Electronic Learning Modules, "ELMs") and learning aids can be viewed on PACER's website by clicking here.
You MUST know your CM/ECF login and password. Many users have their logins and passwords stored in their browsers so they do not have to enter it every time they need to log in to our filing system. When we go live with NextGen, you will be required to link your upgraded PACER account to your CM/ECF filing account. In order to do this, you will be required to enter your CM/ECF filing account information.
If you do not know your CM/ECF login and password, please email firstname.lastname@example.org to have your information sent to you.
If your firm currently uses a shared PACER account, you may want to consider registering for a PACER Administrative Account (PAA). This account allows groups to manage and pay for all charges associated with mulitple PACER accounts.
For additional assistance, you may also contact the PACER Service Center at 1-800-676-6856.
***IMPORTANT: Until the court goes live with NextGen, you will still log in to our CM/ECF filing system using your current CM/ECF filing credentials. You will not be able to log in to our system with your PACER credentials until we go live with NextGen and you have gone through the linking process.***
