ACTION REQUIRED - Important Information About CM/ECF and PACER

The Federal Judiciary has developed a Next Generation (NextGen) Case Management / Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system that will allow you to use the same account for both PACER and electronic filing access.  The functionality that allows filers to have one login and password to access any NextGen court and PACER is referred to as Central Sign-On (CSO).

Alabama Northern Bankruptcy Court went live with CM/ECF NextGen on Monday, September 24, 2018, at 8:00 a.m.

You MUST have your own PACER account.  Shared PACER accounts can no longer be used.

If you have your own PACER account created prior to August 11, 2014, you MUST upgrade your legacy PACER Account.

Learning aids can be viewed on PACER's website by clicking here.

You MUST know your CM/ECF login and password.  Many users have their logins and passwords stored in their browsers so they do not have to enter it every time they need to log in to our filing system.  When we go live with NextGen, you will be required to link your upgraded PACER account to your CM/ECF filing account.  In order to do this, you will be required to enter your CM/ECF filing account information.

If you do not know your CM/ECF login and password, please email ecftrain@alnb.uscourts.gov to have your information sent to you.

If your firm currently uses a shared PACER account, you may want to consider registering for a PACER Administrative Account (PAA).  This account allows groups to manage and pay for all charges associated with mulitple PACER accounts.
